Steve, his music, and his spirit were a "rock" to many of us! Here is the rock where we have received approval to have his memorial!

Grand Lake

In a community with Gene Stover Park and The Heckert Pavilion it is only right that we have a tribute to Steve Cormey.

Our plan has evolved into a tribute to Steve in the form of the engraved lyrics of "Never Summer" and a small picture engraved into a large rock overlooking the beach and Stover Park.

Mile High Memorials is working on completing the project and the financing portion is nearly complete.

The undertaking is significant and I encourage you to be generous in recognizing the man who gave his music, heart, and soul to Grand Lake.

There’s a place I know that I can get to
Tucked away deep in the mountains that I love
Far away from the hustle of the city
The traffic, crowds, the pushing and the shove
It’s a magic place, the keeper of my soul
And its calming waters ease into my mind

With each visit there is more of me to find

There is a dead-end road that leads to the beginning
Of the sacred path that leads me to my soul
And scattered like my memories lie the pine cones
Some are distant, some gone, some new, some old
And there beneath the bald and ancient mountain
Lies a golden meadow cradling a stream
It meanders through the willows and the wetlands
To this peaceful place where I can go to dream
